Ebb and Flow

So, I know this isn’t a fitness blog. It’s a Glod blog and right now Fitness is my main topic :p

Anyway, today I broke out my bicycle for the first time this year… It got serviced at the local bike shop on Monday and the puncture was repaired. It’s going really well… so it your bike is ailing a little and you live near Troon, Leisure Plus Cycles on the high street is the place to go … (hey free plugs are allowed if I say they are!).

Anyway, I jumped on my bike and headed round my usual walking route, this involves some tracks which, while not exactly off road, are certainly not clear tarmac and somewhat full of potholes. 2 miles later the saddle decided to realign itself in a vertical direction and pain in the ass stopped play. Phone home and got dad to bring a spanner out in the car for a quick repair, then headed on out to Prestwick and back.

It’s not a massive distance, probably only 7 or 8 miles total but I made the effort to keep pedalling the whole way and back with no free wheeling. Damned near killed me. Walking is all well and good but I don’t get out of breath like I did on my bike, lol.

Turns out that fitbug is quite generous with the steps for cycling so that hour (well 40 mins really due to the unscheduled stop) was enough to more than make my target steps for today. I like that, means I can alternate between walking and cycling. Change is as good as a rest they say, no?

Anyways, the weekend was a bit of a wash out, therefore I never got to walk on Sat or Sunday. Saturday I only managed the normal workout, on Sunday I did the normal workout then an additional 40 mins. Felt better for not skiving that day away too, but man it hurt, lol.

Todays exercise was a 20 min cardio workout this am (at 6!) and 45 mins of strenuous cycling. I’m pretty sure I scared the crap out oof a few walkers as I hurtled past them 🙂

Tomorrow’s plan is up at 6 for workout before getting ready for work and if the weather permits I’ll go for a walk in the evening.
