So, yesterday I got in and decided to get off my fat ass and go for a walk. Put on my jacket and headphones and headed out with my camera. Bearing in mind I have not done any excercise since last *year* I wasn’t planning anything particularly ambitious.
True to form (non existant…) I was in pain before walking the length of myself but after about a mile that wore off and I settled into my stride. Discovered a new footpath which has been signposted and I have not walked before so started heading along that.
After about a mile I encounter Crosbie kirk. I knew it was there, have driven past it a thousand times but never stopped to be nosy. It’s old and derelict in a little walled graveyard so I stopped to take a few photos before moving on.
Pretty little church which passed some time. I considered heading home but decided that since I wasn’t (yet) feeling the pain I may aswell carry on. Kept on following the signposted path for another mile or so. Naturally at this point the weather turned and the rain came on.
Luckily I had a plastic carrier bag in my pocket which soon covered my camera and I turned for home. Cut across the golf course, through the woods and home.
Now I’m a gadget freak and was wearing my pedometer, out of curiosity it seems I had wandered 7000 steps or there abouts. I had also set my iPhone running with an app using GPS to plot my walk on google maps. Checked that and it seems I walked 5.4 miles. Not bad considering the original plan was to do 1 or 2.
Of course tonight it’s raining harder so I’m not going to head out… but I can always hope it picks up tomorrow 🙂
