So I’ve been playing some more Resident Evil 4 on the Wii. I finally seem to be actually making some progress rather than restarting constantly because I died from a wrong choice.
There’s something satisfying about dispatching hordes of parasite controlled zombies with abandon. The boss fights I have had so far were also pretty fun, and quite imaginative. The first boss is a huge lake monster that ends up dragging you all over when your boat gets caught on it, the second was a more standard giant mutant but both were fun to fight. There have been a few surprises in the plot so far and I’m looking forward to discovering the rest of the twists. It’s been a while since I played a Resident Evil game, in some ways it’s good to be back.
I’ve also been playing some Command and Conquer 3, I’m working on the GDI missions at the moment. I think I’m on the last or second last mission so I should be starting on the Nod missions soon. The game plays very smoothly, and very like the old C&C games, sometimes the oldies *did* have the right idea. It seems of late that the games I am enjoying most are the ones that remind me of old games. I must be feeling my age…
Lord of the Rings online has turned out to be a lot of fun, however my hopes of re-forming my old guild seem to have fallen by the wayside. I haven’t really been playing constantly so the time I have dedicated to the game has been playing, rather then trying to build up the kinship. As a result there are only a few die hard dreamers in the guild, and we all seem to have incompatible play times at the moment.
I can see me disbanding the guild soon, probably merging with Embers which is the guild we merged with in World of Warcraft. And talking about WoW, I need to find time to work on my Shaman too… He’s been sorely neglected of late.
Other than the games already listed the only other games I have played are Guitar Hero I and II. I still love those games to bits, and often go back to them to bash out a few badly played tunes. I think I’m pretty much at my limits of skill tho, some of those really fast songs just hammer me into submission long before the end.
