Quite literally in this case, lol. For the last week or so my folks have been using my bro’s netbook to chat to family in Australia with Skype.
Now, my bro’s somewhat posessive of his netbook… so he dug out his old web cam and I installed it on the laptop I gave to my folks last year. Now they can chat to the Aussies to their hearts content without my bro getting edgy over lack of proximity to his netbook.
Since everyone else in the house was getting in on the webcam action I decided to pick one up for this pc. Something I said I would never do. I’m either “flexible” or a liar. Take your pick, lol.
Yesterday on my way home from work, having been bored out of my skull all day, I decided to drop in by Tesco in Irvine with the intention of picking up a book or DVD or something. After the usual wander round looking at all the toys I passed an end isle which had Rubik’s Cubes on sale. Strangely I had a notion to play with a Rubik’s Cube a few weeks ago. As a kid it was something I could never fathom out. The whole concept just eluded me. So I passed on by to look at the DVDs and the electronics.
30 days of night was on special offer so I picked that up since I like vampire movies and haven’t seen this one. On my way back out the shope I decided what the hell and picked up a Rubik’s Cube too.
Clutching my new toys I came home. After my usual routine of checking my websites, watching Top Gear on Dave and all that I found myself fiddling with the cube.
Having successfully randomised the thing I proceeded to spend the next 2.5 hours messing with it. And … I solved it !!! 25 years on and I have finally solved the cube, lol. Did it again today just to prove it wasn’t a fluke. I’m no speed solver but I’m still proud of me 😀
